The people behind Nuroflyers

Founded by people who understand this journey personally and professionally — we bring lived experience, clinical expertise, and financial know-how together in service of families navigating SEND.

Michelle Idiabana, Co-Founder of Nuroflyers CIC

Michelle Idiabana

Co-Founder

Michelle Idiabana is the Co-Founder of Nuroflyers CIC and an experienced Learning Disabilities Nurse with over 10 years' experience supporting children, young people and families across health, social care and community services. Michelle is an Autism and ADHD assessor and currently works in a senior management role within Children and Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMHS). She holds a degree in Social Policy and Public Administration, bringing together clinical knowledge, leadership experience and an understanding of the systems families often have to navigate. She founded Nuroflyers from a strong commitment to addressing inequalities within SEND services — particularly the cultural, language and systemic barriers experienced by families from diverse communities. Her vision is simple: families should not have to understand complex systems alone.

Mary Kimani, Co-Founder of Nuroflyers CIC

Mary Kimani

Co-Founder

Mary Kimani is a Learning Disability Nurse with extensive experience supporting children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders and mental health needs, spanning specialist neurodevelopmental services and children and young people's mental health crisis services. She previously worked within a specialist neurodevelopmental team, supporting young people with autism, ADHD and learning disabilities, and contributing to the development of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to help young people access the right educational support. Mary's experience has shown her the real impact that unmet educational and neurodevelopmental needs can have on a young person's wellbeing — and she's especially passionate about addressing the inequalities faced by young people from ethnic minority communities in accessing appropriate SEND support.

Real experience. Real understanding.

Whatever stage you're at, you're talking to people who've done this work — professionally and personally.
